Position: Manager of Development

  • Reports to: Executive Director
  • Hours/week: Part-Time, 20 hours per week
  • Salary from: $25-$30/hour

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Development Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for nonprofit development and be committed to supporting our mission to provide children from low-income communities with the skills and support to be successful in school and life.

The Development Associate will play a key role in advancing our organizational goals through fundraising, donor relations, communications, and event planning.

Duties:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Manage and maintain databases to track donor information and analyze giving trends
  • Conduct prospect research and identify potential donors
  • Assist with creating and distributing direct mail, email, and social media campaigns
  • Utilize Salesforce to track donor interactions and manage relationships
  • Collaborate with the development team to prepare and present reports on fundraising efforts
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all fundraising efforts
  • Provide exceptional donor service and ensure timely communication
  • Participate in board meetings and assist with preparing materials for meetings
  • Assist with budgeting and financial planning for development initiatives
  • Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising initiatives
  • Use GiveLively and email marketing software to manage fundraising efforts
  • Develop and implement social media management strategies to increase donor engagement and raise awareness for our organization
  • Research and identify opportunities to expand our market and increase our donor base
  • Assist with managing and coordinating with volunteers for fundraising events

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fundraising and donor relations
  • Experience with databases, including Salesforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial planning
  • Experience with email marketing software
  • Strong social media management skills
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and the market
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A strong passion for non-profit development and a commitment to supporting our mission
