Our Story
In 2008, during an increase in neighborhood violence, families and community members in Eastport Terrace and Harbour House came together to expand opportunities for their children. Out of that commitment, the Eastport Girls Club was born—an after-school initiative rooted in relationships, trust, and the belief that young people deserve spaces to learn, grow, and thrive alongside caring adults.
By 2011, this grassroots effort formally incorporated as Seeds 4 Success with just a $500 donation from a local civic group. What began as neighbors working together has grown into a respected 501(c)(3) nonprofit, built in partnership with families and grounded in the belief that every child has limitless potential when given the right support.
Today, Seeds 4 Success offers four free, comprehensive programs designed hand-in-hand with the community we serve. Our programs—Learn (PreK–5), Dream (6–8), Grow (9–12), and Share (families and caregivers)—provide mentorship with caring adults, academic support, enrichment experiences, and college and career preparation. Together, they help ensure young people and families have the relationships, skills, and opportunities they need to define and achieve their own success.
At its heart, Seeds 4 Success is about equity, dignity, and belonging. We walk alongside children and families, honoring their strengths and aspirations, while working together to open doors to brighter futures.
